I have strong opinions about how a charity pool should be run. Too many groups claim to donate to charity without outlining clear amounts, donation timing (year end?), or providing proof of donation. It is prudent to maintain a healthy skepticism of such claims.

Volunteer fire departments (Freiwillige Feuerwehren) provide the majority of Austria’s civil protection services. In most rural fire departments, the staff consists only of volunteers. The members of these departments are usually on-call 24/7 and working in other professions. They are typically funded by the local communities, by fundraising events the fire departments organize themselves and by donations. This pool supports volunteer fire departments by donating 50% of the variable fee to them. Our servers run on bare metal, repurposed and downgraded office PCs that live a second life supporting the Cardano network and firefighters.

Our mission is to extend financial opportunity to communities under-served by today’s banking system. Of course, ultimately, we think Cardano and the Marlowe ecosystem will play a big part in that. For now, though, we intend to work through KIVA (www.kiva.org). I became familiar with this organization through my workplace giving campaign. They do a fantastic job bridging those with ambition but little access to capital to first world donors. A minimum of 10% of pool owner’s profits will be donated to KIVA, where for each $1 donated they are able to facilitate $8 in loans. Also, on occasion, we will fund loans ourselves to showcase engagement opportunities.

The MIMO team is working together with the members of the Swiss Cardanation and is actively helping to plan and develop an application that will allow people to convert Fiat to ADA using the most common Swiss payment methods, and then send these ADA amounts directly to the desired person using your contact list. We are a couple that has been working side by side with environmental organizations for many years and now we have the opportunity to collaborate with Cardano community, donating  50% of profits to these associations.

Our pool margin is competitively set to 2% not only to cover running costs but to support two charities who are very close to our hearts. 50% of these profits will be donated to Cure Cancer AU and the Sony Foundation at the end of each calendar month on top of any funds we raise from our gaming charity streams. By supporting and donating to both of these charities, we as a pool will be helping raise funds for life-saving cancer research as well as funding emergency accommodation for regional youth cancer patients who must travel to the city for life saving treatment.

We will deposit 10% of monthly operator reward funds into the emergency fund wallet to distribute as a relief fund in the event of a natural disaster. We will continue to update the amount of funds stored in the emergency wallet and the amount that has been distributed to our website and telegram group. We will do this in transparent way, everybody can check the fund and transaction of the wallet.
