Mission: Volunteer fire departments (Freiwillige Feuerwehren) provide the majority of Austria’s civil protection services. In most rural fire departments, the staff consists only of volunteers. The members of these departments are usually on-call 24/7 and working in other professions. They are typically funded by the local communities, by fundraising events the fire departments organize themselves and by donations. This pool supports volunteer fire departments by donating 20% of the total rewards to them. Our servers run on bare metal, repurposed and downgraded office PCs that live a second life supporting the Cardano network and firefighters.
