Mission: Our mission is to contribute to a better future globally by doing our small part. We plan on achieving this by being a long-term stake pool with a high level of reliability and availability. We sincerely believe Cardano will change the world, and we want to do our small part to contribute to this remarkable project. The primary goal of Black Box is to still be producing blocks on the Cardano blockchain decades later when the lives of millions of less fortunate people have changed significantly for the better. We have committed to donate 10% of all fees to the Royal Flying Doctor Service of Australia. An Australian charity organization helping to transport patients from remote locations within Australia to the vital healthcare they require. 

Extra Info about me: Black Box is based in Hong Kong, within walking distance of IOHK’s Hong Kong address. Black Box came about because we are normally employed as Airline Pilots, however, the recent pandemic has unfortunately decimated the international aviation industry. Since we have not worked consistently for the past year, we started looking for another purpose and that is when we found Cardano. Cardano’s mission resonated with our values and beliefs and we were instantly inspired to become involved. 

The name Black Box derives from the Flight Data Recorders installed on all airliners that are affectionately nicknamed Black Boxes – even though they are painted bright orange! Our name also pays homage to the Black Box algorithm trading systems within legacy financial markets.
